Les catalogues d’exposition représentent une source fréquente pour l’histoire de l’art. Mais cette source n’est pas utilisée au meilleur de ses potentiels. Cette séance proposera plusieurs manières d’aborder le catalogue d’exposition – en partant de sa critique historique (l’exposition a-t-elle eu vraiment lieu? à quoi sert le catalogue, et que permet-il de négocier?) -, de l’utilisation ponctuelle à la mise en série et ses ouvertures sociologique, géographique et historico-critique.
